Within the last five years, it cannot be argued that Korean wave or Korean fever has played an important role in Thai society. Almost every age group of Thai societies are fascinate with Korea. Korean culture have effected every parts of our life because Im sure that many people think Korean are in our blood. We consume Korean food, we do plastic surgery, and we imported their fashion industry, and Koreans have become a new travel destination for many Thai people. Even some Thai movie brings this Korean hit to shoot their movie in Korea and titled its movie name in Korean style “Guan-Muen-Ho” In addition, Thai people uses Korean brand cosmetics like Etude, Skin food, and Face shop. However, I believe that the sector that has play the most role in our society is the Korean singing industry or also known as K-Pop. From the picture I have posted here, it had become evident that people are very crazy about Korean singers. Anytime Korean bands/singers come to Bangkok, there will be a mass crowd of fan clubs welcoming them in the airport, making a banner in Korean language during the concert, and following them everywhere they go. The reason I posted this picture is not because I want to invade their interest but this Korean wave is an important phenomena in Thai history. Thus, it shows that even though we are crazy about Korean, but we should not forget and also support the Thai music industry as well if you don’t want them to fade away in our society. Think about it...Do we want that to happen or not?
